Tales in the City

Published stories will be formed into an anthology followed by production of a microfilm with original actors for special screening, film festival applications and many more.

Write your best fictional or non-fictional short stories or poetry on a theme based on various lives and happenings in the city and get curated for publications with the production of a microfilm with special screening at our offline and online events,

The produced film will be pitched for film festivals along with the contributors' names and due credits.

How to submit?

a. Write your short story between 1,000 and 8,000 words or poetry between 800 and 4,000 words and email your short story/poetry in word format (to publishing@ukiyoto.com) after registering here which is a mandatory step.

b. Content should be in English OR Tagalog only.

c. Content maybe published elsewhere earlier but author should have the rights to his/her content.

You may register now and block your slots and submit your manuscript later on or before the given due date.

We will curate content on a rolling process as and when they come in.

The "works" would be placed in anthology/collections to be produced as books followed by the production 1 single microfilm with all author credits on the common theme.

For Participants,

1. For the first of its kind production of a microfilm with entire shooting, screenplay writing and other processes undertaken by us.

2. Published, distributed and promoted by us as Paperbacks, Hardbacks and eBooks worldwide with equal share of royalty paid to authors on sale.

3. Grand Screening of film and launch at our online and offline events.

4. Post production, the film would be applied for film festival pitches, screenings and many more.

Content containing calls to violence or insults to any social groups will not be included!
